How do you get street view on Google Maps?

 

Use Street View in Google Maps

With Street View, explore world landmarks, see natural wonders, and step inside places such as museums, arenas, restaurants, or small businesses. You can use Street View in Google Maps, the Street View gallery, or the Street View app.

Note: Street View images aren’t available everywhere. See where Street View is available.

Get to Street View in Google Maps

Here’s how you can see Street View photos:

  • Search for a place or drop a pin.
  • Tap on a place marker.

  • Android:
  1. Open the Google Maps app Google Maps.
  2. Search for a place or drop a pin on the map. To drop a pin, touch and hold on the map.
  3. At the bottom, tap the place name or address.
  4. Scroll down and select the photo labelled "Street View" or select the thumbnail with a Street View icon 360 photo.
  5. When you’re done, go to the top left and tap Back.

Share a Street View image

To share a Street View image, tap the screen, then tap More More > Share.

Explore Street View

  • To look around in Street View, drag your finger on the screen or tap the compass.
  • To move around, swipe left or right. You can also swipe up or down on the blue line.
  • To see a wider view and change to landscape mode, turn your device sideways.
  • To zoom in, pinch open on the screen. To zoom out, pinch closed on the screen.

Here’s how you can see Street View photos:

  3. Unclick to drop Pegman on a blue line, blue dot, or orange dot on the map.

  3. Click the photo labeled "See outside."

See street-level imagery from the past

You can see old street-level imagery from the Street View's archives in the full version of Google Maps. For example, see how your neighborhood has changed over time.

  1. Drag Pegman onto the map.
  2. Click Time .
  3. At the bottom, use the slider to go further back in time.
  4. To exit Street View, go to the top left and click Back Back.

Note: Historic imagery might not be available for every place that has Street View.

Explore Street View

  • To move around, hover your cursor in the direction you want to go. Your cursor becomes an arrow that shows which direction you're moving.
  • To see where you might go next, look for the X. Click once to travel to the X.
  • To look around, click and drag your mouse. You can also use the arrows to the left and right of the compass.
  • To zoom in or out, scroll with your mouse or two-finger zoom with a touchpad. You can also use + and - below the compass.
  • To position your Street View north, go to the bottom right and click the compass.
  • To jump between streets, go to the "Back to Map" window in the bottom left and click the blue highlighted routes.
